In those days, the Brazilian Association of Photovoltaic Solar Energy (ABSOLAR) reported that the country surpassed the historic mark of 9 GW (gigawatts) of operating power from the solar source.

ABSOLAR, together with ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency), announced that in 2020, 3.2 GW were added in new solar energy projects throughout Brazil.

This placed Brazil as one of the 10 largest in the world in solar energy and experts say that the trend is for Brazil to occupy, more and more, better positions in this ranking in the coming years.
